This stuff works exactly as advertised. I received a packet as a gift, so I threw it in my camp gear and forgot about it. This last week I went on an overland trip. My first night camping I found this stuff and thought I’d give it a try. I put a small pile of it on the ground, built my fire over it, and lit the stuff. It light immediately with one match, no issues at all. In less than 5 minutes, my fire was burning well. I used it the next 4 nights until it was gone. I was traveling in Oregon and some of the wood I gathered was not well seasoned, but this stuff got it going. One night on a whim I struck sparks into the Instafire with a ferro rod. It lit right up. I just ordered 30 pouches of this stuff. You will not find a better product to effortlessly light a camp fire. No paper, no shavings, no splitting logs into kindling. This product has some negative reviews ranging from doesn’t burn long to claiming it doesn’t work at all. It is not for burning as the fuel source. It burns about 5 ~ 10 minutes to get the wood ignited. Reading is fundamental, reading instructions is even more so. All I can figure is that those people got a defective pack, or should not be allowed to play with things that burn in the first place. [...]
