Danco 80971 Push-Button Diverter

This review is for the “Danco 80971 Push-Button Diverter”. This part is an exact-fit replacement for certain old model Delta Tub/Shower diverters. Assuming you can get to the old diverter (I had to cut away a little of the fiberglass tub enclosure in order to get a socket on the old diverter to unscrew it), it is very easy to install. After 3 decades, the plastic tab on the end of the shaft of my old Delta diverter had broken off, which prevented the valve from closing off the water to the tub spout and diverting the water to the shower head. It also caused it to shoot water out around the shaft whenever you attempted to push it in. The new Danco replacement resolved that issue and seems to work well. I just hope it will last as long as the original Delta diverter, as if it does, it will probably outlast me!I might should have given it a 5-star rating, but as I’ve only had it installed a short while, I don’t know how durable it will be.
