IWC Portugieser Tourbillon Mystère Concept & Heritage The reference IW504204 represents one of the most technically sophisticated versions of the Portugieser line. The nickname „Mystère“ refers to the optical illusion of the flying tourbillon at 12 o'clock, which appears to float weightlessly in space. This model was produced in an extremely small series and is limited to 50 copies worldwide. The use of Platinum underlines its status as a collector's item of the highest category. Caliber & Technology The IWC-manufactured movement provides the drive Caliber 50900. It combines the fascination of the minute tourbillon with the efficient Pellaton elevator. Despite the high energy absorption of the bogie, the large spring housing ensures 7-day power reserve. The balance swings with 19,800 vibrations per hour. The sapphire crystal case back provides a clear view of the skeletonized rotor and the Perlage and Geneva strip refined bridges. Case & Material The housing made of Platinum measures 44.2 mm in diameter, giving the timepiece a significant presence and a noticeable weight on the wrist. The polished bezel and satin-finished flanks have a precise finish. A domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides protects the dial. The appearance is completed by a black alligator leather strap. Aesthetics & Readability The silver-plated dial captivates with its classic Portugieser symmetry. The retrograde power reserve display at 3 o'clock corresponds with the small seconds at 9 o'clock. Feuille hands and applied Arabic numerals provide clear structures.
