Rolex GMT-Master II Batman Concept & History The Reference 116710BLNR represents a milestone in the development of the modern GMT collection. At its launch in 2013, Rolex presented the world's first two-tone ceramic bezel made from a single block, a technological first in the watch industry. The color combination of deep black and bold blue quickly led to the established collector nickname Batman. This example from the year 2018 is in unworn new condition (NOS) and marks the final production window of this coveted reference on a solid Oyster bracelet. Caliber & Technology The centerpiece is the Caliber 3186, a high-precision manufacture movement with automatic winding. It is characterized by the Parachrom-Breguet hairspring, which is highly resistant to magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations. The GMT function enables a second time zone to be displayed via the central blue 24-hour hand. Thanks to the Incabloc shock protection and the robust construction, the movement offers a power reserve of approx. 48 hours. As a certified chronometer, the Caliber 3186 maximum accuracy under a wide range of conditions. Case & Material The housing with a diameter of 40 mm is made of highly polished and satinized Stainless steel 904L an alloy that is primarily used in high-tech applications. The Cerachrom bezel with its 24-hour graduation can be rotated on both sides and has a platinum PVD coating on the numerals. The Triplock winding crown guarantees a water resistance of 100 meters (10 bar). As this item is classified as unworn (New Old Stock), all edges are, Chamfers and surfaces in their original factory condition without any traces of processing. Aesthetics & Readability The black dial forms the perfect contrast to the generously dimensioned Chromalight indices and hands, which glow blue in the dark. The Rehaut is engraved with the obligatory serial number. A special feature of the aesthetics of this reference is the visual depth of the ceramic bezel, the blue half of which shimmers between navy and royal blue depending on the incidence of light. The Oyster bracelet with polished middle links underlines the masculine character, while the Easy-Link extension of the clasp ensures a high level of comfort in everyday wear.
